Montgomery Canal Restoration Delivery Presentation

On 9th January, Katie Woodroffe and Richard Harrison, Canal and River Trust Project Managers for the Levelling up Fund delivery, gave an online presentation to The Friends of the Montgomery Canal.

The presentation will be the subject of a public consultation in Llanymynech Village Hall on 7th and 8th February and if you are able to attend, you will be able to put your comments to the team.

Have your say on the Montgomery Canal

Members of the public who visit the Montgomery Canal in north Powys have an opportunity to give their views on the canal before a major restoration project begins.

As part of the Montgomery Canal Restoration Project, three surveys have been launched to find out the current views of people who visit the Montgomery Canal.

Towpath Diversion at Schoolhouse Bridge

News about the rebuilding of Schoolhouse Bridge – towpath and road diversions

Further steps are being taken towards starting the rebuilding of Schoolhouse Bridge, both of which have been made public. There is not yet a date for the actual works to start but this is expected to be in January 2023.

Help keep the towpath clear

We often see comments about the vegetation on the Montgomery Canal towpath and how it can impede enjoyment of the canal. Could you volunteer to help keep them clear?
