Montgomery Canal Forum 2026

You are cordially invited to the Montgomery Canal Forum at 2pm on Friday 8 May 2026.

If you want to find out more about the restoration of the Montgomery Canal, then the Forum being held at Aico, Maesbury Road, Oswestry SY10 8NR will be an ideal opportunity to catch up with developments.

The restoration of the Montgomery Canal is a leading canal revival, creating a corridor of opportunity for the community, valued and used by all, a navigation that respects values and enhances the unique nature of the canal.

The Forum this year will feature current developments and plans for the future, including updates on restoration of the canal in Powys where the multi-million pound Levelling-Up project is building new bridges and safeguarding ecology with new nature reserves, and in Shropshire where volunteers are restoring the section which has been derelict for eighty years.

The Forum is a public meeting open to anyone interested in the restoration and development of the Montgomery Canal with its social, economic and environmental benefits for present and future generations. There will be an opportunity to discuss any issue concerning the future of the Montgomery Canal and what it can contribute to the area.

You will be welcome.
