The Montgomery Canal Triathlon is at risk of not taking place this year
Some members of the organising committee have stood down after many years of service and as a result, there is an insufficient number of people to run the event successfully.
Organisers have now put out an urgent appeal asking for help. The Montgomery Canal Triathlon is a wonderful opportunity to not only raise funds for the ongoing restoration of the Montgomery Canal, but to showcase the canal in all its glory.

Can you help in some way with the organisation? Every person who can do one thing will make a difference. If you think you can help, please email friends@themontgomerycanal.org.uk
There are a wide range of duties that volunteers can help with including:
* Contacting and confirming details with Triathlon suppliers
* Specify, design and produce the Triathlon webpage and social medial messaging
* Contact and advise emergency services
* Gain consents from landowners and local officials
* Organise setting up the start/changeover points/finish
* Organise transport from finish to start via transition points
Said Chris Palin, one of the many dedicated volunteers who has made the event such a success in the past: “Please don’t let this event fade into the annals of history. We have a huge bank of volunteers and triathletes who all enjoy helping out and taking part in the Triathlon on the day, but we need more people to help manage the overall event. The Montgomery Canal Triathlon has been a fantastic event for many years and for many people is a firm date in their calendar. Please help us keep it going in the future.”

I’m up for helping,Christine maybe organise the finish,marquee etc
